On the first part of this trail you will hike along Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail, which used to be a transport route between Tsuen Wan and Yuen Long.

From the hospital walk straight ahead. On your left-hand side there is a sign pointing to Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail. A lot of steps lead you uphill to Ha Fa Shan where the trail starts. After 4,3 km the trail joins Tai Lam Forest Track. Walk along the concrete road to a barbeque area, where another sign is pointing to Tsing Fa Tong. Here turn left and follow the trail all the way downhill to Sham Tseng. Walk through the pedestrian underpass to Castle Peak Road to catch a bus.
It is a scenic hike which offers a spectacular view of Tsing Ma Bridge. The first part of the trail gives you the feeling of hiking somewhere in Europe.

Allow 1 hour travel time from Central to the starting point and 1 hour for your return journey.
